Shortly after Christmas I figured I’d give Blockzone a try and ordered thier “Racing bike” kit. It was on sale for about $45. So not bad. A good try.

While it was being shipped I did discover that it was a clone of Lego set 8051...

...with an MSRP of $40. However, being a 2010 kit, anyone who knows the collector market knows that it isn’t $40 anymore...more like $112.50...

Building it wasn't terrible, but it made me appreciate the lengths Lego goes for with quality control. A few pieces came pre-chewed up. Some of the pieces left dents in my coffee table, but most did fit well. The manual was a bit light. Delivery took about four weeks. Not much to say otherwise. But if you are looking for a kit, get an official one if it is available for a reasonable price. If they have a kit you just gotta have, it'll be good. It does seem like a faithful reproduction.

For someone who loves LEGO that site is a rabbit hole. Damn you,  and thank you as well. :)
